A Message from our President

From the President, November 2018

  • Posted on November 1, 2018

How do you even start to write an article with the horrific tragedy we saw unfold this past Shabbat in Pittsburgh? A city known for its diversity and tolerance where no one would have thought such an event could happen at a Shul. Much has been written in the past couple of days about this Continue Reading »

Last Wednesday night in addition to hearing our beautiful choir practicing, we had volunteers downstairs doing final cleanup in preparation for the start of Sunday School. Thursday stickers were being put on Continue Reading »

Hope everybody is having a great start to the summer. As I wind down my first year serving as President I wanted to reflect on some experiences, thoughts, and ideas. Biggest Surprise- If you are not involved in many of the day to day operations, you miss the fact that we have a very strong Continue Reading »

  • Posted on May 3, 2018

Recently a friend from a small South Georgia congregation shared a great article that talked about the differences you see growing up Jewish in a small town as opposed to a town the size of Atlanta. In smaller towns we all feel a responsibility to be involved. When you are in a congregation in a Continue Reading »

Something Special Here in Macon

  • Posted on December 7, 2017

“You truly have something special here in Macon” This was a comment made recently by somebody attending a funeral for a family member in Macon. There are times we take for granted how special is our Shul. Whether it is coming together for a minyon to allow somebody to say Kaddish, or creative programming for Continue Reading »
