March Happenings

As most of you are aware, we have postponed Ian Altman’s Fund Raiser Concert. We will keep you posted when we have a reschedule date.

Many thanks to Anne Bayme and everyone on her committee who helped with a great Super Bowl Party. A special thanks to all our sponsors for supporting our synagogue.

Also, thanks to Jan Lewis and her committee for our wonderful Scholar In Residence weekend with Merle Feld.

We send our condolences to the entire Bullington/Bloodworth/Bashuk families on the passing of Lauren. She was such a beautiful person in so many ways. May her memory forever be a blessing to everyone who knew and loved her.

We will continue with our monthly Sunday Coffee Bagel Lox Schmooze Zone on the first Sunday of each month. This is not just for Sunday School parents, but also for ALL members of our congregation to have chance nosh, schmooze, and get chance to know each other. I hope you will join us starting at 9:30 am until about 11:45 am.

As we roll into Purim, we are getting excited about the Purim shpiel. I hear the rehearsals are going great and we are sure to have some surprises. Speaking of Purim, how many of you make your own hamantashen at home? This is been a longstanding tradition at our house for years. Invite some friends over and start a new tradition! Always fun to cook and do
something new.

A big thank you to the Kruger family for funding the purchase of much needed additional Lev Shalom Siddurs in memory of Paul Kruger. Those who knew Paul, remember his sense of humor, positive attitude, and love of being around family and friends. I know opening a siddur and seeing Paul’s name will bring a smile to everyone’s face when they think about his sense of humor and his family’s devotion to our congregation.

Be sure to watch your emails for more info about Havdallah in the Courtyard as we move into spring. We are in process of working out the details, and do not have everything in place at the writing of this article.

No, it is not your imagination, Purim and Passover are much later this year. This a “leap” year with months of Adar 1 and Adar 2. If you’re like me and have never figured out how they calculate the “formula” on this, ask the Rabbi!

As we wind down the month, we will be moving full speed into preparation for Passover. Watch Facebook page for sharing of favorite Passover Recipes from members of our congregation!!!
