Summer has just flown by! It hardly seems that school has been out almost two months and our vacation is almost over. Sunday School and Hebrew will be starting back soon and our great BOE has been busy planning for a fabulous year.
The High Holidays are just around the corner, and we wanted to give everyone a heads up about our annual Congregation wide dinner at CSI before the start of Kol Nidre services. Both Jan and I want it to be a meat meal, so reservations are a must. If we do not know far enough ahead, people will not be allowed to make reservations. So, the committee will be meeting soon to work out the menu and the deadlines for the meal. If we plan well, we can pass the savings along so that the meal will not be too expensive.
The Rabbi and the Ritual committee will be meeting soon to discuss plans for the High Holidays. We are looking for volunteers to help with pre-service preparations such as polishing the silver rimonim (silver adornments on Torahs), putting out prayer books for High Holiday services, reading from the torah or haftorah, selling or even purchasing honors and helping with the pre-Kol Nidre dinner, break the fast and the various Sukkah hops and dinners here at shul. Feel free to call me, Jan or the Rabbi and Jeff to volunteer!
Please stay tuned for more exciting changes in the months to come. Hope to see all of you in shul or on Zoom!
