The beat goes on as we come to the end of 2017. December, while filled with holidays and breaks, was also filled with a busy school schedule.
On December 3rd, our celebration of Chanukah included Bible Raps Matt Bar’s return visit to CSI from Philadelphia, PA. He shared his knowledge and talent of putting religious themes to rap. He worked with our 4th-6th graders as they wrote rap depicting the story of Chanukah.
Meanwhile, Matt’s friend, Ori Salzberg, worked with the all of the classes as they sang, danced, and acted out the Chanukah story. Ori directed and filmed everyone, and ultimately edited our wonderful Chanukah video. You should have received an email with the video to see the great performance of our CSI Maccabees. Our students and teachers had an incredible experience with costumes and props, and working with Matt and Ori. May you all continue to “shine your light!”
Our Seedling Class continued to meet twice this month, on the 3rd and 10th; and our Teens met on the 3rd and 17th. Rockin’ Shabbat was held on the 8th and Junior Congregation was held on the 17th.
Please continue to support our students’ class tzedakah projects displayed in the social hall. In addition to our students bringing their own tzedakah money towards their projects, they are learning about Tikkun Olam and how they can be a part of making the world a better place.
Happy Secular New Year! Wishing you all a wonderful 2018! See you January 7th, Seedlings and Teens, too!
