We were back from Spring Break April 8th with a regularly scheduled Religious School day. Each class participated in their own age appropriate activity for Yom HaShoah, conducted in their classrooms with their teachers. Also, the Teens took a field trip to Mercer to meet two Jewish students who took them on a guided tour of the University, and talked to them about life on campus and an Israel program they have started. The teens had a great time and learned a lot about what possibilities to look for in different colleges.
The Seedling Class had a morning filled with Jewish Super Heroes from the Torah. They explored the lives of Abraham and Sarah, Noah, Joseph, and Moses and Miriam through storytelling and books. The learned about the lessons they brought us like being wel-coming and hospitable, having faith in God, being a good and righteous person, being able to forgive, and being a leader. Everyone went home with their own Jewish Super Hero Book.
Rockin’ Shabbat happened on April 13th.
