The High Holidays Are Coming!

It seems that summer was just starting and now the High Holidays are coming! All of this in a blink of the eye! We are all looking forward to in-person services for the High Holidays, but zoom will also be available for those not able to attend in person for whatever reason. I just am happy that this year we can share the season together however works best for each of us individually. Sunday school and Hebrew school will also be starting soon in person as well. I want to offer a big thank you to all our volunteers who make that possible every year and to take a minute to brag on how great a job I think they do for our kids. Yasha koah to all of you!

We plan to start the return to our fall schedule with a Shabbat dinner September 16th. Details will be forthcoming by a flyer. In addition, Rabbi Rubenstein will be starting the Holiday season on September 17th with an amazing Selichot program with Erev Rosh Hashanah following on September 25th, Rosh Hashanah Day I & II to follow, and then the week to follow with Yom Kippur. Times and other information for all the High Holiday services and programming are located elsewhere in the bulletin and on the weekly email. As of the time of this article, we are planning to have our annual pre-Kol Nidre dinner. Details are to be out soon. Please make plans and reservations early as there will be a limited number of reservations to make sure we are able to spread out enough to have adequate social distancing. Other plans for meals for Sukkot and Simchat Torah will be in the October bulletin and by email.

As you can see, exciting things are coming to CSI. Please stay tuned as we plan for upcoming programing in the months to come. We hope to be instituting some new policies in the near future to continue to do what is recommended to keep everyone healthy and safe in the months to come. Be on the lookout for letters about our annual fundraising drive. I know finances may be tight, but the shul would appreciate anything you can do to help pay expenses for the coming year.

I look forward to seeing everyone on zoom or in person at services and programming. Good Yom Tov to all and may you all be signed into the Book of Life for another Year!

Please be safe and well.

Shalom,

Shelley
